Phillip Green

Phillip Green began his professional career as Principal cellist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and has since conducted all of Australia's major symphony orchestras. He has devised and directed numerous events in Australia and New Zealand, conducting opera, dance and symphonic works in many metropolitan and country locations.

Phillip remains active as a teacher and solo cellist, and is currently the Director of Performing Arts at Melbourne's MacRobertson Girls High School.

Phillip conducted the Zelman Symphony twice in 2001, and in 2002 he performed Elgar's cello concerto in a concert where he shared the conducting responsibilities with Janis Laurs.
